| 2. History of the department: |
The M.Sc (Physics) course was started in the year 2003-2004. The Department has been offering this physics course to prepare the students to do research Work. The department has adequate number of rooms to accommodate 30 students and 4 Faculty members.

| 3. Objectives: |
The objective of the M.Sc.,(Physics) Degree Programme of our instruction is to prepare the U.G physics students to equip themselves with specific knowledge and skills to compete in research work.

| 4. Eligibility For Admission: |
Candidates seeking admission to the M.Sc., Degree course must have Passed B.Sc with Physics/Special physics/Appled physics as Major subject and Mathematics as ancillary subject.

| 5. Duration Of The Course: |
The duration of the course shall be two academic years with four semester

| 7. Course Content: |
The M.Sc.,(Physics) course consists of 16 theory papers, three Practicals, one project and an educational tour also. The following are the important subjects: Mathematical physics, Solid State Physics, Computer Oriented Numerical Methods, Information Technology, Quantum Mechanics.
Available advanced project facilities in the laboratory are as follows.
(1) Photo voltaic pack with different filters.
(2) He-Ne laster kit with various slides.
(3) Michelson Interferometer.
(4) Optic Bench.
(5) Electromagnet with power supply.
(6) Constant Deviation spectro graph with source for Arc Spectrum.
(7) Ultrasonic Interferometer.
(8) Microprocessor with interfacing equipments.
